The British Columbia Association of Integrated Marketers (BCAIM) is the only association In British Columbia dedicated to measurable advertising and direct marketing — including broadcast media and interactive technologies. We are the official chapter of the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) In BC. As such, our members enjoy all the rights and privileges of belonging to a chapter of the CMA.

Our purpose is to promote ethical and effective direct marketing in British Columbia by providing our members with the education and networking support they need to succeed in the industry.

Search, behavioural targeting and social media are the newest and most intriguing ways to market products and services to Canadian consumers. Canadians submit more than 33 million words a day to search engines in Canada and internationally, and recent research by Yahoo! reveals how consumers’ use of new social media tools and product referral sites is changing the e-commerce landscape.

In this presentation, Mr. Alles will discuss how search marketing, behavioural targeting and social media platforms are having an impact on branding and direct response for marketers. Brad will share the latest research in online consumer behaviour, and discuss examples of how companies across a range of industries are using these new tools with dramatic results.

About our Speaker:

Mr. Alles joins Yahoo! Canada after a distinguished 12-year career with Alliance Atlantis Communications where in his most recent position as Executive Vice President of Sales he led a team of 80 sales, traffic, promotions and research staff for 13 Canadian specialty channels and their websites.  He was also responsible for driving a 100-fold increase in advertising revenue over the same period. 

Prior to his position as Executive V.P. Sales he was a sales executive with YTV Canada Inc. and All Canada Radio & Television Sales Inc.
