ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Darren Barefoot and Julie Szabo run Capulet Communications together. Capulet Communications specializes in web marketing and social media relations, largely for technology companies. They’re based in Vancouver, but spent most of 2007 working and living in Malta. They’re starting off 2008 in Morocco.

Julie has worked as a writer, marketer and publicist for all kinds of companies—from Vancouver’s largest live theatre to Ireland’s smallest start-ups. Her great passion—aside from writing—is travel and living abroad. In the last five years, she (and Capulet) have lived and worked on three continents. In the rest of her spare time, Julie writes a figure skating blog, and figure skates whenever she can find a spare sheet of ice.

Darren is a writer, marketer and technologist. He’s spent the last decade working for technology companies in Canada and Europe. He regularly speaks about marketing and Web 2.0, along with Julie he helped found Northern Voice, Canada’s social media conference. Darren maintains a personal blog at DarrenBarefoot.com.
