ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
Steve is President of Market Research Canada West within Ipsos Reid. He has been in the research industry for 20 years and with Ipsos Reid since early 1995. Steve spearheads the efforts of our 60 client service staff in offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Seattle including specialized practice areas of Lottery & Gaming, Energy, Retail, and Travel. He is responsible for marketing, client service, staffing and administration of a business unit with annual billings of $20M.
Steve is also responsible for Ipsos’ Custom Panel Business, a $10M practice area in 2009. This unit specializes in building custom, interactive online communities of client customers, employees and stakeholders for clients in multiple countries around the world. His team of 20+ panel managers and developers are responsible for the creation and development of Ipsos’ Interactive Forum software, which powers the panels. He is responsible for staffing, development, administration of this unit, along with worldwide sales and marketing.
Steve is a sought after speaker represented by the National Speaker’s Bureau and is the company’s frequent media spokesperson in the topic area of Internet trends. His accomplishments include growing Ipsos Reid’s Western practice above industry growth rates over the past six years, winning BCAMA’s 2001 Marketer of the Year Award for the company, and winning Business in Vancouver’s “Top 40 Under 40" award in 2006. Steve holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University with a concentration in Marketing. Steve has a family with four school-aged children, coaches basketball, and if there is a moment of spare time after that, enjoys hockey, golf, snowboarding and windsurfing.
